How you can see a list of installed Apps and Modules in Vuente and Odoo

Working with both Vuente and the Odoo platform continues to be a learning curve like any growing business it has it’s frustrations as well. Today I’ve been exploring the loss of our menu items and came across this snippet of info which was a new way of identifying the different Applications and Modules that have been installed into our Vuente Business Management System.

I identified that by adding this to the end of your domain name you do get to see all the items mentioned already. so try this www.yourdomainname/website/info and see for yourself:) You may be a bit more techy than myself and find this Forum Q&A more informative https://www.odoo.com/forum/help-1/question/hide-website-info-page-64665

Sharing with WordPress

This article will show you how to connect Clarify to your WordPress blog as well as how to upload a document.

Configuring

Open Clarify Preferences

Add a WordPress sharing account

From the

1.Share tab click the

2. + button and

3. select WordPress.

Enter your blog URL

Enter the URL to your blog and click Configure.

Enter your blog login credentials

  1. Enter your username and password.
  2. Clarify ships with one WordPress HTML template that is used when formatting your Clarify document for upload to WordPress. The template does not apply any sort of styling to the content that is uploaded. If you would like to create a custom HTML template that can be used when uploading to WordPress then please refer to the HTML templates manual.
  3. Test the connection to make sure you have entered your information correctly.

Uploading to WordPress

Now that you have configured your WordPress sharing account you will see a WordPress icon in the sharing toolbar. Click on it to upload your document to WordPress.

The WordPress upload dialog

You will see this dialog when you upload the document. You can choose the blog, post type, status, and category (if applicable to the selected post type). Any tags you have assigned to the article will be assigned to the post you create in WordPress as well.

Clarify will list all of the available post types in your blog. The default choices allow you to create a Post or a Page. If you have any custom post types they will show up in the menu as well.

After you make your selections click the Upload button. When the upload is complete the URL to the WordPress page will be on the clipboard.

A note about updating images

The next time you upload the Clarify document to WordPress Clarify will replace the existing post. When updating an existing WordPress post Clarify tries to optimize the update process by not uploading images which have already been uploaded. If a step image has been uploaded before then it will not be uploaded again if:

  1. The image still exists in WordPress and
  2. The image content has not changed.

A couple of things to keep in mind. You should not modify any images that Clarify uploaded within WordPress itself if you plan on using Clarify to update the post later on. If you use a 3rd party WordPress plugin to replace an image in WordPress, Clarify won’t know that you did and will not upload the latest image from the Clarify document. In addition, if you use WordPress to edit the image Clarify will not know that you made changes to it.

Google Odoo and the Maze of Internet Knowledge

With both Odoo and The big G helping us bring together some of the best information they can find it still takes a mountain of time to find consistent knowledge that actually answers questions for the newbie Odoo developers in this world.

Over time we stumble across some real Odoo gold nuggets!

I came across this link whilst spending hours to try and resolve a techie problem whilst all my developers enjoyed the weekend with friends and family…

Me…I’m all about providing the ultimate customer experience through fast and friendly customer service.

I’m not sure how long this sites been around yet what a fantastic resource for new Odoo Developers, and what seems to be an Odoo original site possibly?

I say that as it’s an obscure .org site? Have a look by following this link…

I stumbled across this whilst site whilst searching on how to add my new TAG custom fields into multiple forms at the same time, or all through one custom odoo module.

This was my search “how to inherit custom lead fields to opportunities and customers in odoo”

And this came up way down near the bottom of my search

TAG Odoo Learning Website Search Find

Such a resource hidden in the depths of my Google search

Have a look at this link…

How to connect Google Drive and Odoo Step 1

With the popularity of both Google and Odoo it’s obviouse to find so many standard modules available to connect the two together, yet as i search around the web looking for those all illusive answers as to How to actually connect Google Drive and Odoo it’s clear there are so many opportunities to support other business owners to follow TAG’s method of Simplified Business Management

In this Stage 1 Video I step through to a stage where timing became hard and the tech problem stood out like a sore toe!

Watching this video will certainly allow you to follow the process and potentially you get further than my stage 1 process or procedure.

Until I manage to get back and finalize the stage 2 steps on How to connect Google Drive and Odoo.

Until then all the best in success

Timelines and Software

The way we utilize time is most likely the single biggest elements of management success that we could understand, be it Time Management, Timelines, Time Utilization, what ever it is it all comes down to we only have a certain amount each and every day.

Recently I wrote and spoke around the concept of a B.H.A.G (Big Hairy Audacious Goal), if your goal doesn’t scare you then maybe it’s just not big enough they say!

I pride myself on the way my times utilized yet with any fast paced business growth there’s problems.

Timelines & Software

As part of my personal and business B.H.A.G I wanted TAG to be the provider of outstanding customer service, not just another ho hum provider, someone that like many of my business buddies and colleagues, I feel we’re all going as hard as possible!

So I’m a techie, deep analytical manager, joining the business dots of information out there in the either, yet being a software developer at the same time focused on providing an outstanding customer experience has certainly laid it’s challenges out.

Three Sunday After Hours For Nothing!

TAG is all about supporting and building a Small Business Community, because there’s strength in numbers and realistically there’s the trust element. Developers aren’t developers, and I certainly learnt that whilst working on 5 different TAG Customer Management Systems I tripped and stumbled like never before, only to be shown in about 10 minutes from the next generation hot shot!

Geez that #$%^& me at times!

As we begin to open up the training element of the TAG Odoo System my time get’s massively juggled between answering one on one questions versus solidifying, systemizing and structuring a simplified and automated process.

Take a look at our introductory training for the TAG Management System here

or watch this quick 2 minute overview video

So as my ever so faithful virtual support and assistant Lara continues to implement as we cross over time zones we’ll begin to automate the process using our Odoo Version 8 Marketing module combined with the 50,000 free emails per month that we get from Rackspaces Mailgun Email Proving Service. What a saving over the likes of Ontraport or Infusionsoft!

In this Lara Delegation Video

You can see the extremes that TAG is working at to implement in the most time and cost effective way possible, the high level of intensity and tech challenge that traditionally we’d be paying up to 90% extra to have this type of system put in place!

 Customer and Team Status Update

Whilst I’m running as fast as possible this video is a general overview looking at the TAG system whilst acknowledging each of your companies customized systems

All the best in success

Standardizing Systems Procedures and Information Flow

Building a sustainable small business isn’t always as easy as one might consider as we depart the traditional JOB, today we want to discuss standardization of the TAG management system and introduce the model of business process flow charts which we’ve chosen to use Lucidcharts online.

With so many elements associated to building a sustainable and scalable long term venture one often moves to issue resolution or a different management style as personal pressure increases.

I used the S.W.O.T analysis as a way of communicating or understanding how adopting standards can allow us all in the TAG Small Business Community to in effect do more with less.

As part of the TAG (The Automated Genius) business management system we looked at the concept of a sales funnel moving through to a call center model and how the system could actually handle the process of setting up high level experts then filtering down the knowledge through a structured method and finally allowing us to utilize a younger positive attitude person, through our standard methods we have in effect empowered the next generation so we can improve their skills.

You can watch that video again here or review the early development of our full page Sales Call Center process & information flow chart and take a look at the TAG Odoo Screen Here

Time management or time utilization can often be difficult with a large and expanding customer base yet having standards and automation allows us again to do more with less…

As per normal my busy day begins so until next time all the best in success yet here’s an early model of our process flow chart associated to the T.A.G Odoo system and the opportunity to adopt a centralized and standardized call center.

Creating a powerful management team

We all know I rabbit on a bit when it comes to Techy versus Sales, yet in any successful business we understand it takes all types of people let’s consider the S.W.O.T analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats) as a management tool, I also like the 80/20 rule.

Strengths, if we could create a Small Business Community based around our individual Strengths, all tied together through a virtual hub, platform or management system would allow all of us to be mobile or remote based.

Starting with a customized and personalized version of TAG, The Automated Genius, as a management system, we can adopt standardized trainings and or create a scalable and replicable business model, in effect we can take your business to a global audience. The choice really does become yours.

In this video I’m illustrating how I can see one Small Business Community (The Business Market Place) having the ability to combine it’s community members core strengths into a consistent management hub, teaming up to support each other and to expand their community globally.

Time, Team & Money, If we took ego out of the equation and looked at in effect any fast growth business, you’d find these three core elements, you may not notice it directly, yet rest assure, it will be underpinned by these three elements being in place. There all adding strength to the opportunity

Weakness, so if we focused on our strengths and collectively worked to alleviate as much weakness as possible then the returns could be nothing short of amazing, I know this to be true after being a key driver in a turn around which was losing at a rate of 750 thousand dollars in three months to amazing high profits and a revenue increase of some 17 million dollars over a 5 year period! It all starts with a solid and committed team though.

Opportunities, needless to say there’s opportunities every where in this day and age, yet never before have we had such a tool like the internet to support the massive leverage of our knowledge.

Let’s think about it for a moment shall we?

So you’re an amazing individual, a genius in your own mind, your styles unique and your personalities unique, so what really makes you stand out above the crowd, MARKETING or POSITIONING.

Time = Money, Money = Time, we’re either charging for it or paying for it and time is a once of resource, so thanks for spending this time with me:), yet we only have a limited amount of time to truely enjoy life outside of work, it’s what I refer to as a work life balance

Back to the Small Business Community, so we have a system, we have high quality sales converting community members, we have technically capable people like never before, so why can’t we connect the dots and create an amazing small business solution? Think of the opportunity? Think BIG, Think Global, Think of the Future.

Threats, it’s reasonable for me to say that there’s always a risk in any business venture we take on, as a small business owner and serial entrepreneur, I’ve sure as heck seen the risk and the price tags, money relationships on both the good and the bad side, so I also understand that having the right people around us as part of that strong community or team is paramount, we need to minimize the threats to increase the opportunities around us.

The 80/20 principle, So if we considered our offer had an 80% success factor, the 20% would be filled with failure or potential issues, failure isn’t a word i choose to use so, let’s focus on potential issues, as part of our small business community we also have some very diligent people, investors, procedural, legal, we have pretty much everyone needed to make a massively successful Small Business Community or Small Business Team. It’s about the quality of the questions and the quality of the answers relative to TRUST & CERTAINTY.

TAG, The Automated Genius & Odoo,

Managing Mass Mail to Sales Call Management, as they say it all begins with a vision:)

How to add a new field in Odoo 002

Recently I created a post on How to add a new field in Odoo, whilst that is one way the other is to create a custom module, as i’m reasonably new to developer world yet a user of Odoo for some 3 years now it’s been over this time that I was told that your best to create a stand alone module for increasing or changing your version of OpenERP or Odoo

How to remove unwanted States and Countries In Odoo

Removing unwanted data from you Odoo Business management system is obviously going to make the user experience less confusing or complicated. In this video lesson back to the Team at Tag I’m signed in as the Administrator with View Technical Settings ticked in the Admin user profile.

So…signed in as an administrator with technical settings selected you will need to follow this path effectively to find the non required data. Sales/Configuration/Address Book/Localization/Fed States and then search for Australian and save any that are in place currently.

If there are currently none identified then go to Countries and remove all countries except Australia and then add the Australian states.

Now if your watching this from another country then this video will clearly show you the path to follow and the process we’ve used to clean up relative to your own system and geographic location.

How To Change or Customize Menu Names In Odoo

Starting with the Odoo Online Business Management System has allowed us to maximize the efficiency of our installation in such a way that is simply outstanding.

In this video lesson we look at delegating the task of Customizing or Changing the menu names in the TAG Odoo systems that we’re installing for more an more happy customers.

Accessing the global community of odoo suppliers has been wonderful yet as far as time management goes, it’s been demanding to say the least.

Building a true Lean Business allows one to do more with less however and empowering everyone in your team is one of the most powerful ways of building a solid business blueprint.

How To Change the Odoo Sign In Logo

Like so many of the tasks associated with Odoo finding a central how to guide is close to impossible on the internet, sure Odoo has it’s “How To” yet in a cost effective and structured way it certainly can run into quite a high cost when you consider it on a per user basis.

Turning to the internet takes lots of non productive time and as  far as lean management goes that’s really is non value adding time?

How much is 1 chargeable hour of your time worth?

In this post we begin the process of researching and creating an operational procedure that allows us to perform the task more efficiently by training our team and supporting other small businesses implement Odoo in a cost effective and efficient way.

With Lean Thinking the intention is always to remove as much non value time as possible from point of sale to customer delivery.

How to add a new field in Odoo 001

Adding additional fields to the Odoo system can be relatively simple once you know how. In this video we discuss adding a simple field, whilst also understanding the type of fields you may wish to add could be quite variable.

Setting up your TAG Odoo Business Management System on Rackspace

We decided long ago after consulting with our odoo development partner Emipro Technologies that we would use Rackspace as our preferred server and hosting supplier, whilst technically the requirements for the OpenERP or Odoo system required an Ubuntu Server for optimum performance, this isn’t a server as common as your everyday website is hosted on though.

You can research Rackspace yourself here by clicking this link

Being an Australian based company, in the future we needed to be hosting in Australia also, more specifically around financial management, unfortunately the US market could have reduced our server expense each month, yet this was the best solution for both budget and performance.

They offer a 99.9% uptime and 24/7 server support, that’s more beneficial to us as your technical partner, or yourself into the future should you choose to part ways with us!

Without getting too technical, you may wish to discuss these bullet points with an external techy person you already know and trust?

  • We are going to be hosting the CRM Business Management System on a Rackspace Cloud Server
  • They Offer a 24/7 Tech Support
  • Their a publicly listed company
  • We best performance we will be using an Ubuntu Server
  • The Server will be hosted locally (Australian companies in Australia, American in America, etc)
    • This is too comply with local regulations

This Step 1 video gives as close as possible an overview of the signup process, whilst respecting our clients information and due diligence on my behalf.

We did end up waiting for client feedback and had to put the implementation on a slow down phase until a critical question was answered though.

Our Sign Up Procedure was;

  1. Sign up using customer details
  2. Username and password have been simplified whilst following some basic logic for ease of memory and implementation
    • Username:  (case sensitive)
    • Password:
    • Security Question: What is your favourite colour
      • Answer:
  3. After you’ve selected the “Next Step” Button
    • One of the questions requests a phone number
    • My recommendation is that you put Anthony’s mobile number in there to begin, 614 389 848 this can be changed very easily later yet the technical questions may start to fly and we want this to be as seamless as possible for everyone involved.

So Let’s begin:)

How to import data from Excel to Odoo

As we continue to set up and add customers data from excel to their Odoo system we’re also consolidating for our team and small business community.

I found this slideshare which helped greatly and made life a lot easier.

How to restart the Odoo system server

I’ve personally started with the program called Putty to stop and restart my Odoo Management Systems

So firstly we need to understand the script

How to remove the Sign up Registration in Odoo

Whilst the Odoo management system is huge in it’s capacity the reliance off ongoing training and support can be quite difficult.

Searching the planet for a 24 hour 7 day solution can be hard!

Here we illustrate how to remove the sign up registration on a new instalation

Odoo Stop Phoning Home

Update, whilst the following can be quite techy surprisingly enough by following this you can add the module directly from a new installation now.

You can set it up like this:

In Settings click “Update Modules List”.
Unselect the “Installed” text in the search box, replace with e.g. ‘home’.
Install the “Stop Phoning Home” module.

Signing into Odoo must of simply been an acknowledgement to Odoo, yet after signing in i was redirected back to the same page and was then able to simply add the module from the settings area.

Once the Instal was completed following these steps the top bar had been removed.

So all in all that’s How to remove the top registration bar in Odoo

TAG Odoo Accounts Invoicing Intro Step 1

Expanding the TAG Odoo Management System like any business is an ongoing process, yet here at TAG we’re also about empowering other businesses be it a micro or a macro sized business the TAG Odoo Management Portal can accomodate. Enough said!

So as TAG expands rapidly we now access global resources, all working in a virtual way, connecting through “digital communication” which effectively keeps us mobile, free and flexible! Yet, we’re all adding the right value based or specific skills, attitude and overall experience, it’s what we here at TAG refer to as “collective intelligence”

Expansion in business is full of questions and answers, let’s be honest, it takes a huge amount to create an extremally fast growth, profit making business, and today it’s all about invoicing, invoicing whilst applying the principles learnt through Lean Manufacturing.

So now we’re beginning the Lean Accounting Process.

In this video I start to explain the process that we’ve initiated as part of the TAG Odoo development program, that is, working with my ever so faithful and wonderful virtual administration support we’ve been able to build, critique, refine and now illustrate or train so many others how to also adopt lean thinking in their businesses accounting platform.

Step 1 shows all of our existing invoices, open or draft, we’re looking to finalize or maintain on a daily basis the invoice value for two reasons, it is effectively work in progress as a value, yet also as soon as the project is completed be it a 1 day or a 100 day project the invoice is consolidated, packaged and ready to send out straight away. Awesome, that lean business management at it’s best!

Take a look at the video and all the best in your business success

TAG Odoo Sales CRM Calander View

Each days a day to learn and grow your business, maintaining a dynamic and “can do” team around you would have to be one the biggest attributes I’ve seen over the 30 odd years of self employment, not to mention the multiple millions in revenue growth achieved through the leverage of solid proven systems and structure.

As I see it it’s Systems, Structure, Solidify and Scale

Accessing such a dynamic portal like the TAG Odoo Simplified Management System certainly allows for rapid implementation and an easy to adopt user experience.

In this video we’re illustrating the initial concept of the CRM calender and scheduling capacity as a default out of the box solution. With the ability to integrate with existing email systems or completly run a self managed system, the TAG Odoo delivers a fast and seamless management method that promises major savings or double handeling of information throughout your company. Having access via the world wide web allows not just ease of use but flexibility like never before.

Adding a new post and plug in using WordPress (B)

As WordPress is such an amazing system and like so much of the online software or programs available today, it’s in effect free!

So it makes me wonder why some people can charge small start up online businesses the fees that they do?

With sites like Fiverr which I’m sure not everyone’s aware of getting a low cost site up and running can be ridiculously cheap and easy to manage, yet it’s this online experience that we here at TAG are offering in our Breakthrough For Life…Online Business Management Center.

The videos being added here are intended to expand your knowledge in the most cost effective way possible, we do this as TAG continually drives forward expanding our team, systems, structure, customer service and massive automatic communications… All designed to simplify business management!

Online Communications

Over the many years of running successful fast paced small businesses I’d suggest that the single biggest value added management technique would have too be the concept of Lean. These principles completly reinvented the way I personally looked at my past management style, it was a new beggining one might say!

Lean was really about two core elements, the method of communication along with the concept of constant improvement, it’s help add thousands, if not millions to the bottom line of the businesses I’ve been involved with.

Here at TAG we live and breathe Lean thinking now and in this quick 5 minute video we manage to articulate the message in a virtual sense, speed, clarity, confusion, task performance, management time, frustration, all these elements have been reduced or completely alleviated as we continue our business development journey.

Whilst this video may not articulate any knowledge on your journey the intentions are as too how much simpler your management could be using and accessing the internet as a tool in the new digital economy.
